At this point I kind of hate myself for watching it each time a new episode comes out. I feel like these were almost meant to be binged with how small and irritating they can be. Meanwhile, if you watch them back to back, you can retain the building tension and excitement and better understand the story since you actually remember everything that happened in the previous episode.

I wait for 4 episodes to come out so I can at least watch 20 minutes worth.

If I am not mistaken this is one of the very few donghua that didn't 1st start as a light novel. I believe it came direct from the manga (manhua). you could binging that. I did a couple years ago and even a couple years ago it was already way, way past this point in the anime (donghua)

Yes, The story was very similar, but after her mother show her powers this donghua went to another route from the manhua, and has to many parts not included in the manhua. Also, the manhua has a little more comedy than the donghua.

I've found that I prefer to watch. It gets through it faster when I don't always have the time to spend reading for hours. Though, that does bring up a question (if you don't mind), how true is the show staying to the original material? I know with anime it can be either word for word or like... total rip off in terms of following plot/character development.

As best as I can recall it seems the anime is sticking exactly to the manga. There may be some things that get glossed over or a few minor parts skipped, but generally speaking the donghua (anime) is pretty precise so far.
